Prison Ministry

Several times a year there are Bill Glass Behind The Walls events in the North Texas area that Crossroads Canton attends. If you would like to find out more contact Stuart Thomas at 972-571-9686 or the Church Office.

The church is God’s chosen instrument through which Believers are equipped, discipled, and trained to share the Gospel. Ephesians 4:11-12 says, “And He gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry,…”

We know that churches train their people to share the Good News, but the data shows that few put it into practice. While most of us want to be obedient to our Lord, we must overcome a fear of not knowing HOW to evangelize….and not sure of even HOW to start a conversation.
We come alongside local churches all across the nation, under the authority of the pastors, and train their members to share the Gospel using a simple, straightforward tract. The next day, we take the newly trained volunteers into jails, prisons, and juvenile facilities where they are given multiple opportunities to share the life-transforming message of Jesus Christ. Following the event, many of those equipped and ignited volunteers take what they have experienced behind the walls and use it to make a difference in their home churches, communities, neighborhoods, etc. Training, sending, and winning one soul at a time.

There are events most weekends somewhere around the country where Behind the Walls is bringing the Gospel into prisons.

Beginning in 1982, Dr. Robinson has served churches in New Mexico and Texas for over 34 years. His life verse is Proverbs 3:5-6. “Trust in the Lord with all of your heart. Lean not unto your own understanding; In all of your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.” Dr. Robinson’s passion is to be part of a team seeking to lead Crossroads to be a congregation committed to making disciples who in turn make disciples.

Taylor serves as Associate Pastor as well as the leader of our LifeGroup and Discipleship ministries. He is the husband of Rebecca and father of Annie, John Knox, and Addie. His life-verse is 1 Chronicles 16:11, “Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.” It is his hope for Crossroads that the church grow and shine Christ’s light contagiously; that everyone who encounters us will know they have encountered Christ in us and be better for it. It is Taylor’s hope that together our church will treasure and put to active use the spiritual gifts, hearts, abilities, personalities, and experiences God has brought together here for His glory; that everything we are together and individually will reflect His glory to each other as well as those outside our fellowship.
