Crossroads Canton

Show Up and Love

Here at Crossroads, we are known for a very familiar motto. You will often here us say, “Just show up and love”. Many people have been injured by religious organizations that, for whatever reason, have related to people in anger or judgment. Our hope is to see a church that is characterized by the love of Christ. We’ve been forgiven much, and therefore seek to welcome others with the grace that has been shown to us.

Crossroads is a church that seeks to minister to our community with relevance and truth. We stand for hope, help, and healing through the wonderful message and power of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our church is committed to protecting our people from religious tradition that is void of practical purpose, or biblical merit. Making Disciples Who Make Disciples

Our vision is clear. We seek to make disciples who will then make more disciples. Sounds simplistic, but it is what we are called to do! Jesus was very clear on what the disciples were called to do. We see this instruction in Matthew 28:18-20,

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

How Do We Seek to Make Disciples?

We hope that every person connected to our church will come into a relationship with Jesus Christ. We hope that they grow in their relationship by becoming involved in worship, lifegroups, ministry, and missions. Discipleship occurs in all of the functions of our church, and we encourage involvement in each. We believe a healthy Christian will participate in these areas based on the specific call of God on their lives.

Lifegroups offer a great opportunity to grow deeper in your faith. However, specific questions may arise in your mind, or you may be going through struggles that you would rather not discuss with an entire group. Through the vehicle of lifegroups, one on one discipleship relationships are made possible. With counsel from our staff and elders we can match you with another believer to walk with you through doctrine, theology, and many other vital elements of your faith. What to Expect

Our corporate worship experiences are driven by relevant teaching and application of the scriptures to our everyday life. You can expect a one hour service which includes contemporary music, testimonies, preaching/teaching and great fellowship and creative presentations of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The environment is casual so come as you feel comfortable. Don’t be overwhelmed but you will be greeted by a team that is dedicated to helping you find your way the first few times you are on campus. Plan to come early, grab a cup of coffee, or a bottle of water at our hospitality center and experience a life-changing encounter with the living God.

A Lifestyle of Worship

“Crossroads is passionate in the area of worship. We seek to commit all of our ways to the Lord. God and God alone is worthy of our life’s commitment.”

Dr. John Mark Robinson

Beginning in 1982, Dr. Robinson has served churches in New Mexico and Texas for over 34 years. His life verse is Proverbs 3:5-6. “Trust in the Lord with all of your heart. Lean not unto your own understanding; In all of your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.” Dr. Robinson’s passion is to be part of a team seeking to lead Crossroads to be a congregation committed to making disciples who in turn make disciples.

Taylor serves as Associate Pastor as well as the leader of our LifeGroup and Discipleship ministries. He is the husband of Rebecca and father of Annie, John Knox, and Addie. His life-verse is 1 Chronicles 16:11, “Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.” It is his hope for Crossroads that the church grow and shine Christ’s light contagiously; that everyone who encounters us will know they have encountered Christ in us and be better for it. It is Taylor’s hope that together our church will treasure and put to active use the spiritual gifts, hearts, abilities, personalities, and experiences God has brought together here for His glory; that everything we are together and individually will reflect His glory to each other as well as those outside our fellowship.
