Anchored Youth

  • Sunday Morning Lifegroups

Here at Crossroads we believe that lifegroups exemplify the heartbeat of our church. We believe that the Christian life is never meant to be lived alone. Of course, Anchored youth has the same vision. On Sunday mornings our faithful adult volunteers lead two Junior High classes and two High School classes through a curriculum entitled The Gospel Project. This provides a deeper level of study and a time for our students to connect with face to face interaction with each other. Our Sunday morning lifegroups meet at 11:00 am each week. Junior High boys meet in room #1. Junior High girls meet in room #2. High School boys meet in room #3. High School girls meet in room #4. These rooms are located in the portable buildings behind the main buildings of the church.

Each Wednesday our youth meet for Crossroads Family Night. All youth are welcome, and we encourage them to bring their families with them when possible. These nights provide a great time for families to come closer together and for the family of Crossroads to strengthen. These nights feature a meal, worship, and introduction with all ages present. We then shift into a time of breakout groups. This is where the youth meet with our Youth Pastor for an age appropriate talk based on the overall theme of the night. Once the youth breakout group ends, our youth return to the larger group to end out the night with their biological and/or church family. This structure is provided during the first three Wednesday nights of every month. All 6th-12th graders are invited!

This semester we are beginning what we are calling "4W" (4th Wednesday). Due to holidays etc. we are only hosting two "4W" nights. The first will be on September 27th and the second will be on October 25th. On these nights we encourage parents to drop their kids off for a night they won't soon forget. We provide food, open gym time, games, music, guest speakers, creative media, and much more. Just think of a miniature camp experience packed into one powerful night. Also, we encourage parents to use this as a night for them. We understand that schedules are crazy and you hardly have any alone time. Use this night for a date night, grocery runs, naps, or anything else you would like to do with a free evening. The program will run from 5:45pm-8:00pm on these nights, and we hope to see your students here!

Every 5th Wednesday all the families of the church are invited to join us for a night a fun. We'll eat together, and spend time getting to know each other through many different games and activities that are safe for the whole family. We want this night to be a break from the stress of your day to day, provide an intentional time for you as families to spend a worry free and fun evening together, and to get to know our church family better.

  • Disciple Now Weekend

Each year we host an event entitled Disciple Now. Historically, this weekend proves to be one of the biggest events of the year. With the feel of a youth camp, this weekend features a guest speaker, guest worship band, college age small group leaders, a project to impact our community, and of course fun activities for all in attendance. This event is open to any and every 6th-12th grader no matter their background or belief. Parents can expect that their students will have a blast while being impacted by the gospel of Jesus Christ. Whether students have been saved for years or have never heard the good news of Jesus, this event is for them all.

  • Powerplus Youth Camp

Every summer we attend Power Plus Youth Camp hosted at Pineywoods Baptist Encampment in Woodlake, TX. Students that have attended in the past would readily speak of the locations beauty, while simultaneously giving testimony to how God spoke to them in this week long retreat. There's something for everyone at this camp, and like Disciple Now, this week is open to all 6th-12th graders that want to attend. This week provides an opportunity to unplug from regular routines and focus on God for an entire week.

  • Texas Super Summer

We have been blessed with so many students that desire to dig deep in their faith. Super Summer partners with youth ministries across the state to train student leaders, or potential student leaders. This camp differs from whats offered at Power Plus in that attendees will go through an interview process with our youth minister and will express a desire to grow in discipleship, evangelism, theology, and general leadership. With a more regimented schedule, Super Summer provides around 24 hours of bible study in one week. Student will have a blast, meet students from around the state, and grow in an intense fashion all in a weeks time.
